Use these checks before booking travel extras.
Airport parking checks
- Match the airport and terminal exactly.
- Check whether you keep your keys.
- Check transfer frequency, transfer time and operating hours.
- Check cancellation rules and amendment fees.
- Check whether the provider is on-airport, off-airport, meet-and-greet or a comparison route.
- Check return instructions for late flights.
Car-hire checks
- Check driver age, licence and payment-card requirements.
- Check deposit and excess wording before you arrive at the desk.
- Check fuel policy, mileage, border rules and extra-driver charges.
- Check child seats, navigation, winter equipment and collection timing.
- Check what happens if your flight is delayed.
Bundle checks
If a parking, hotel, lounge or car-hire bundle looks convenient, still check each part separately. The cancellation rule for one element may not match the others.
When to pause
Pause if you cannot find cancellation terms, deposit wording, exact location, transfer details or provider contact information. A cheaper-looking option can be the wrong fit if it adds stress on the travel day.
