Heat-pump, condenser and vented tumble dryers solve the moisture route differently. That difference affects placement, water handling, exterior venting, depth and maintenance. This broad route includes all three types deliberately; it is a type-and-installation decision, not a copy of the public heat-pump-only shortlist.

This route is for buyers who have room for a dedicated tumble dryer but have not yet fixed the technology. It helps compare exact capacity and physical setup before secondary programmes or connectivity enter the decision.

Who this is not for

It is not for buyers needing one combined washer-dryer, a passive drying solution or a guarantee of lower bills, faster drying or garment results. It cannot approve an exterior vent, drain or appliance location for a particular building.

Compare the exact setup jobs

Bosch WRB247C9GB is 842mm high and 598mm wide, with 627mm appliance-body depth but 675mm including the closed door. The manufacturer’s specification gives 1119mm depth with the door open: neither this opening figure nor closed depth includes every connection and service allowance. It carries a 9kg dry capacity. Its Self Cleaning Condenser reduces one named upkeep task; it does not remove filter, condensate, placement or service instructions. Decide between the water container and supported drain route, check the reversible-door plan and respect the published operating-location requirements.

Haier HD90-C367U1 also uses heat-pump technology and has 9kg capacity. Its overall dimensions are 845 x 595 x 685mm, materially deeper than its separate 610mm cabinet figure. Use the 685mm value when comparing physical fit. The included drain hose may suit a supported drain plan, but the route and connection still require checking.

Measure use and maintenance space

Measure the delivery path, appliance position, full depth, open door and the route needed to reach filters, water containers, hoses and service points. Confirm floor loading and the exact manufacturer placement instructions. Do not assume a cupboard, unheated room or stacked position is acceptable without model-specific support.

Match dry capacity to normal washed loads. A 9kg washer does not prove that every 9kg textile load can be dried together under every programme. Read fabric and programme limits and accept that bulky items can use volume before weight. Then choose whether emptying a container, arranging a drain or maintaining an exterior vent fits the household.
