Choose this if / Avoid this if
Rule out poor-fit options before comparing finer details.
Avoid if
- You need a measured runtime, benchmark result, ruggedness rating or guaranteed cabin-bag fit.
- You have not checked the operating system against every application you require.
Dealbreakers
- The live listing does not show the exact recorded configuration and ASIN.
- The complete carried kit or required adapters make the route impractical.
Check before buying
- Confirm the exact model, memory, storage, colour and operating system on the live product page.
- Add the charger, cable, sleeve and required adapters when comparing total carried weight and bag fit.
- Check that required apps and offline files work on Windows, macOS or ChromeOS as applicable.
- Confirm ports, dock needs, charger input, seller, delivery, warranty and return terms.
Choose another shortlist if
- Choose a lightweight-laptop route when body weight alone matters more than the wider travel workflow.
- Choose a battery-life route when independently measured runtime is the primary decision.
- Choose a larger-screen route when permanent desktop-style working matters more than portability.
When another role fits better
The first option is a useful starting point, not a universal winner. Move another role ahead when its use case, fit or ownership trade-offs match you better.
Known limitations
UK Shortlists has not performed first-party travel, runtime, benchmark or durability testing on these configurations.
How we chose
The checks behind the four picks
Compared on exact configuration, documented body weight and dimensions, operating-system fit, charger and port needs, and UK ownership checks. We have not measured runtime, performance, durability or total bag weight.
- Step 1: Exact configuration identity and current manufacturer evidence
- Step 2: Documented body weight, dimensions and full carried-kit implications
- Step 3: Operating-system, offline-app, port and charger fit
- Step 4: Delivery, seller, support and return checks before travel

FAQs & alternatives
Does the LG weigh 999g with its charger?
No. LG's published figure is the laptop body weight; add the supplied power adapter, cable, sleeve and any adapters when planning the carried kit.
Why use the 24GB/512GB MacBook Air configuration?
It is the exact Sky Blue configuration currently bound to the commission-paying Amazon UK destination. Choose it only if that memory, storage and macOS workflow match your needs.
Are all four buying links commission-paying?
Yes. Each current product action routes to an exact Amazon UK product page with a registered UK Shortlists Associates tag.
Also consider
- Compare the lightweight-laptop shortlist when documented body weight matters more than battery-test context or operating-system fit.
- Compare the battery-life shortlist when a named independent runtime test matters more than these manufacturer-published figures.
- Compare the 14-inch laptop shortlist when screen size is fixed but travel-specific charger and bag checks are secondary.
