Start with the exact model, not the diagonal
“43-inch” describes the screen class. It does not tell you the width of the supplied feet, the assembled depth, the mounting-hole pattern or where the HDMI cables need to bend. Four televisions with the same headline size can therefore create four different furniture and wall-mount decisions.
If wall mounting is already the plan, compare exact wall-mount-friendly TVs across 43-, 55- and 65-inch screen sizes after checking the bracket and wall constraints below. One screen size, three published patterns and one unresolved case
The exact Samsung UE43U8000HKXXU and LG 43UA75006LA records each publish a 200 x 200 mm mounting pattern. Named UK retailer records for the exact TCL 43P7L-UK publish 200 x 100 mm. Those numbers are useful compatibility fields, but they do not establish that a particular bracket, wall, fixing method or installation is suitable.
Xiaomi L43MB-FPEU is the reason exact-model checking matters. Its official UK specification and the mechanical section of its same-model FAQ state 100 x 200 mm, while another section of that FAQ says the model does not support VESA. UK Shortlists treats the conflict as unresolved. Do not buy a bracket for that model on the strength of either line alone; obtain exact-model confirmation from Xiaomi first.
This is not a ranking of the four TVs. It is a compatibility contrast. A model with a familiar pattern can still be wrong for the wall, bracket, room or cable route, and an unresolved document is not permission to guess.
The feet can change the answer before the bracket does
Wall mounting is not always the final arrangement. A delayed installation, a rental restriction or a change of room can put the supplied stand back into use, so record both configurations before ordering.
Samsung publishes a 613 x 157 mm stand inside a television that is 957.8 mm wide. LG publishes an 892 x 200 mm stand inside a 968 mm-wide television. Xiaomi lists an 846 x 210 mm base and specifically requires a support surface wider than the 957 mm television, not merely wider than its feet. Argos lists a 716 mm stand width for TCL, but the separate stand depth is not verified in the captured evidence.
These figures are not minimum cabinet recommendations. Check the complete support-surface, loading, ventilation and clearance instructions for the exact model. A narrow feet span cannot make an undersized or unsuitable cabinet acceptable.
Reserve the ports before fixing the viewing position
The four exact 43-inch records each identify three HDMI inputs, but the job of those inputs differs. Samsung lists its three for 4K at 60 Hz and supports eARC. LG identifies HDMI 2 for eARC. Xiaomi identifies HDMI 2 for eARC and ALLM on a 60 Hz panel. A soundbar using eARC normally consumes one HDMI connection, so count consoles, set-top boxes and streaming devices before assuming three ports are enough.
Port position matters too. A bracket that places the set close to the wall can reduce hand space and cable-bend clearance. An articulating bracket changes the load and movement plan. The useful order is: list the devices, reserve the audio-return port, identify side and rear connections, then check the bracket documentation and proposed cable route.

A short pre-purchase sequence
- Copy the seller’s full model code and match it character-for-character to the manufacturer or retained exact-model evidence.
- Record the published mounting pattern, without treating that field as installation approval.
- Check the bracket’s documented screen-size, pattern and load limits, then resolve the wall and fixing method with a competent installer where needed.
- Map socket position, HDMI access, cable bend space, ventilation and soundbar clearance.
- Recheck the exact seller, buying destination, delivery, returns and warranty immediately before purchase.
