Fit comes before features
An office chair can look well specified and still be wrong for your desk, body size or working pattern. Treat the shortlist as a starting point, then verify the dimensions and adjustment range that matter to you.
Body and desk checks
- Check the stated seat-height range against your desk height.
- Check whether the seat depth is likely to support you without pressing behind the knees.
- Check the backrest height and lumbar adjustment wording.
- Check whether armrests fit under or beside your desk.
- Check the maximum user weight only as a manufacturer limit, not as a comfort guarantee.
Work-pattern checks
If you sit for short sessions, simple adjustment may matter more than premium materials. If you sit for longer days, check the recline, tilt lock, lumbar support and armrest adjustment more carefully.
Non-medical boundary
This page is not medical advice and does not claim that a chair will treat pain. If pain or a medical condition is part of the decision, use professional guidance as well as product checks.
