Evidence ledger

Robot vacuums evidence ledger

This ledger explains the evidence boundaries for UK Shortlists robot-vacuum routes. It covers consumer route choice by layout, floor type, maintenance burden and automation caveats; it does not claim direct home testing or guaranteed cleaning outcomes.

Source types used

  • manufacturer product pages, manuals and support notes for navigation, dock, app, consumable and maintenance requirements
  • stable retailer pages for visible product details and merchant-context checks already captured in existing route evidence
  • route evidence summaries, review-basis metadata and Micro-Proof signals already present in the repository
  • independent expert or editorial reviews only as corroborating context for navigation, maintenance or floor-fit caveats

Source types still needed

  • more official support captures for consumables, replacement parts, firmware, app/account requirements and dock dimensions
  • stronger source packs for routes involving pet hair, carpets, mop lifting, thresholds and obstacle avoidance
  • clearer caveat records before claiming reliability, hygiene outcomes, automation effectiveness or floor-type performance

Supportable claims

  • which existing robot-vacuum route is the better starting point for broad, budget, floor-type, pet-hair, mop or dock-automation constraints
  • published checks such as navigation type, dock behaviour, app/account needs, consumables, floor-type caveats and maintenance friction
  • evidence-strength bands and caveats already exposed by shortlist evidence summaries and Micro-Proof signals
  • claim-boundary reminders that robot-vacuum shortlists are consumer buying routes, not cleaning-performance, hygiene or reliability guarantees

Unsupported claims

  • guaranteed cleaning performance, pet-hair removal, hygiene outcomes, obstacle avoidance, mopping quality or replacement of manual cleaning
  • hands-on home testing, lab cleaning tests, long-term durability tests or firmware testing unless a route explicitly documents that basis
  • live price, stock, delivery, rating, review-count, merchant or warranty availability claims
  • universal fit for every floor, threshold, room layout, pet household, app/account setup or maintenance routine

Route coverage summary

Coverage is limited to existing shortlist routes. This ledger does not create routes, change product choices or change rankings.

Known limitations

  • Robot-vacuum results depend on floor mix, thresholds, clutter, hair type, dock placement, consumables and maintenance routine.
  • Mopping, obstacle avoidance and self-emptying can reduce friction, but route evidence should not be read as a guaranteed home outcome.
  • Micro-Proof signals summarise route support and caveats; they do not create direct home-test evidence or live merchant-state proof.

Micro-Proof interpretation guidance

Micro-Proof signals are public-safe summaries of evidence support, freshness and caveats. For robot vacuums, treat a signal as route guidance only: it is not a home-test badge, cleaning guarantee, hygiene proof or live merchant-state check.
